1000 DAYS
Today, it is 1000 days until the publication of PINK FLOYD TO LOWLANDS PARADISE and not only that. 17 February is a special day in the history of Pink Floyd and the Netherlands. On 17 February 1968, the group played its first concerts abroad with new member David Gilmour in Vlissingen and Terneuzen in the province of Zeeland. For a long time, the story went that they had already done so a year earlier, in June 1967, and thus still with Syd Barrett, but those concerts were only announced and never took place. Pink Floyd would play in Vlissingen again later in 1968. The Concertgebouw (like the Amsterdam venue with a hyphen) was used until a few years ago, but is now being converted into an apartment complex or hotel.
